eCommerce Workshops Major Draw at 10th Annual Conference

The 10th Annual Worldwide Conference was hosted in Singapore, March 4-8, and provided more than 3,000 WCA members with the opportunity to connect and boost partnership opportunities. This was the largest and most successful WCA conference to date as delegates were excited to celebrate the groups 10th anniversary of networking success.

WCA eCommerce was well positioned at this year’s conference, offering valuable workshops, panel discussions, keynote speakers and think-tanks for all participants. Delegates were required to pre-register for each of the 15 workshops but that did not stop curious attendees from crowding in to hear what WCA’s expert eCommerce professionals had to say. This resulted in standing room only for many of the discussions.

“Our goal is to provide all members with a preview of the new economy,” said Alex Allen, Director of WCA eCommerce. “Freight logistics is changing and as it converges, we want to provide our eCommerce members with the tools and resources they need to compete on the global stage. This conference was proof that our members are excited and passionate about the sector.”

Workshops included Risks & Liabilities for US Regulatory Compliance, eTailer Expectations from Shipping Companies, Gateway Logistics, Fulfillment by Amazon, and much more. The incredible turnout gave network directors a sense of what was important to both members and non-members alike; proving valuable for the future development and planning of eCommerce dedicated conferences.

“We are gearing up for our 2nd annual conference in London,” said Dan March, CEO of WCA. “This is a huge opportunity for us to deliver valuable content and guidance to our members. Accessibility to conferences and un-matched networking opportunities is one of WCA’s greatest member values, and this one will be no different.”

Here's what our members have to say:

"It was a pleasure to listen and learn more about the e-commerce and we are very interested in getting more involved in this growing market."

- Orit Horn, International Logistics Express, Inc.

"WCA eCommerce events are an amazing way to network with great logistics partners to help grow our business globally. With the help of WCA we have formed global partners and now have the network to expand beyond our wildest dreams."

- Chris Folayan, Founder/CEO, Mall for Africa & Mall for the World.

"My pleasure met you again in SIN and thanks for everything…(the event was) fantastic. I really like the eCommerce network and I deeply believe our network will grow stronger and (more) powerful."

- James Tsang, CEO, Unitex Group & USPEED eCommerce shipping solutions

"The keynote sessions were rather informative. I look forward to attending others in due course."

- Sherry Tong, General Manager, A-Sonic Logistics Pte Ltd.

"Thank you for everything, all was very good."

-Vladimir, Secretray General, TIACA

"All sessions were valuable. It didn't matter that I come from a small country in the heart of Europe (currently a bit beyond mainstream trends), we saw eCommerce giants building their infrastructures while supplying mainly German B2C market. Hearing about the dynamics of logistics, as a classic freight forwarder, we should ask ourselves the question, what will be our next position?"

- Roman Goerojo, COO, European Contract Logistics

"It was great to attend some eCommerce sessions last week in Singapore. We are a registered member of WCA eCommerce. and we hope to look forward to more updates to unveil the opportunities to be ahead of game!"

- Honest Roman, Sales and Marketing Manager, Dow Elef International
